Ṣoḍaśabāhu-Nṛsimha-aṣṭakam
Full Moon | 08 APR 2020
On this auspicious Full Moon day, I offered my morning practice to the wellbeing of humanity and prayer for healing from this Corona Virus Challenge that we all face now. Towards the end of the practice, a vision of Lord Narasimha appeared, and I realised I had to pray to him to alleviate this suffering. Lord Narasimha is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who appears in the form of half lion, half man, to save his devotee Prahlāda from the evil ways of the almost invincible demon Hiraṇyakaśipu.
There exists a beautiful chant titled ‘Ṣoḍaśabāhu-Nṛsimha-aṣṭakam,’ composed by the great Vijayendra-yati who lived between 1517 to 1614. In the Phala-stuti (benefits of chanting) of this chant, it says that when we are gripped with fear or disease or possessed by evil spirits, prayer to Lord Narasimha through this chant may help alleviate the suffering in our hearts.
I share this with all of you to listen to with the audio track enclosed below. May we all be blessed through the grace of the divine Lord Narasimha.

Namaste.
